Verification Policy

Work2Wed offers two verification badges. This page explains exactly what each one checks, what it doesn't, and how the review process works — so you can rely on it appropriately.
1. Work email verification
When you sign up with a work email address, we send a one-time code to that address. Confirming the code proves you have access to that inbox at that point in time — it does not independently confirm your employer, job title, or role.
2. Employment verification
You can submit a payslip, offer letter, or employment letter, along with the company name you declare, for review. Here's exactly what happens to it:
- The document is stored privately — never shown to other members, and never accessible by a public link;
- Our AI extracts the name, employer, and pay period from the document, and checks whether the extracted employer matches what you declared. This is advisory context only, shown to the human reviewer alongside the document — it never approves or rejects a submission by itself;
- A human reviewer on our team makes the final decision, and can approve or reject with a reason;
- If rejected, you can see the reason and submit a new document.
What the badge means: at the time it was granted, a document you submitted was reviewed and judged consistent with the employer you declared. What it doesn't mean: that you currently work there (employment can change after review), that the document couldn't have been altered in ways our review didn't catch, or that AI alone certified anything — AI assistance in this process is explicitly advisory, and the badge reflects deterministic rules and human judgment, not an AI decision.
3. What we never do
- We never use AI to independently determine whether a document is genuine or whether a person is who they claim to be;
- We never show your payslip, offer letter, or employment letter to any other member, or to our team outside the dedicated, audited review flow;
- We never guarantee a verified member's character, intentions, or current relationship/marital status — verification is about employment only.
4. Using badges responsibly
Treat badges as one input among many, not a substitute for your own judgment. Read our Safety Policy for concrete guidance on verifying someone yourself and staying safe when meeting a connection in person.
